You’ve read above right – the insane variant releases continue!  There are 3 released widely with at least 8 of them being exclusive covers.  That’s a hard trek to climb – including the shipping costs it’s easily going to cost $500 with the premium amount they are asking.  That being said, the comic is still outstanding!

Without the secondary market, We still get a compelling story every month that has not slowed down! After the final page of the last issue I was wondering if we were even going to see the Hulk in this issue.  With a book called “Immortal Hulk” I should have known the answer!  Bruce Banner is having a lively conversation with his dead father in “The Place Below”.  You know, as one does.  Brian Banner never stops playing mind games with his son as he also gives information about Gamma and how it’s not just a chemical to blow things up or make green monsters.

Hulk’s healing factor kicks into high gear and he comes to to slap the new Abomination around.  Hulk tells Harpy to rip his stomach out and stop the flesh eating acid – but careful – it’s still Rick Jones underneath after all!  With the reporter still following along and Shadow Base ready to attack, the Hulk uncharacteristically saves the woman when the Shadow Base’s flying tanks approach.  The Harpy and Abomination go at it with both trying to kill each other.  The Harpy takes Abomination high up and as Jones begs to be killed she releases him on top of one of the tanks!

The damaged tank runs into the other and they both explode!  Hulk then yells out “TANKS for the memories!”  Just kidding – he doesn’t do that, thank goodness!  He does rip Jones dead body out of the broken Abomination carcass.

Alpha Flight (or Gamma Flight – but I’m not particularly sold on that name) arrive to try and make sense of the scene.  Meanwhile Banner’s starved body wakes in a hell and is confronted by an enlightened being.  The title of the issue gives us a clue to the being Megatron – one of the most powerful angels – but I am unsure of the other body on the floating crater with Banner – does anyone else know who that is?

To cap off the issue we are given what seems like a deleted scene and a real enticement for the upcoming Absolute Carnage.  It seems Thunderbolt Ross’ body has also disappeared but crimson tendrils are spotted around the area…
