Every once in a while when my LCS gets in collections there are hidden treasures. While searching through the many, many new action figures they bought I caught a flash of Thanos on the bottom of the box. I asked to see it and he pulled out a tangled mess that is this hanging mobile promo piece. He worked it a little bit and was able to get the thing completely free. Truly, it was a thing of beauty! He quoted me a price that I was more than hap with and was able to take it home with me that day. Sometimes, these pieces excite me more than the actual comics do!
Prominently featuring the Hulk in the group of heroes fighting back against Magus and Thanos. You just have to love the Infinity Stones and the hovering heroes above! With Ron Lim art you can’t go wrong either – the whole thing is just gorgeous! Super excited to include this piece to my collection for sure!
No lie – whenever I can snag a box like this I make sure to. It’s pretty fantastic when you’re able to get something as an added bonus – most of the time stores won’t be bothered at all if you take the box since they would usually just throw it out anyways. I wouldn’t have picked it up if the Hulk wasn’t on the box – but he was I a snagged it.
I do love the Hulk and Hulkbuster being side by side on the side of the box – and the fact that they even included the Hulk was a bonus since he was in a total of less than 5 minutes in the whole movie. I have check but I know there are a few missing minis from the entire collection. A glow in the dark chase and metallic versions exist that I don’t have. Maybe someday.
Back in my childhood days I would never had imagined they would have made a plush Hulkbuster. Or hey, a plush Iron Man at all! Unfortunately, the helmet doesn’t open up at all – and really – there isn’t really anything to this little guy other than his cuteness and soft, squishy body. If that’s not something you’re interested in then skip this piece. For me, I will gladly pair this up with the Gladiator Hulk soft that this company offered.
There are a few Avengers: Infinity War opening day collectibles. Did I tell you the story how I went to the opening day event at my local theater and received the Infinity Gauntlet coin and collectible cup went awry? You see, I am so accustomed to throwing away my trash after the movies that I tossed the cup right into the waste barrel. I didn’t even realize until I was halfway home! It was the red and black cup that kicked all sorts of ass – but hey, life happens.
A few weeks later my friend told me that he had a collectible cup that had a giant Hulk head on the top. When he went to the concession stand to collect the cup he found out the Hulk was already sold out. But then – yes, there is more to this story…
On the movie manager retreat he saw the company who created the cups with a stand in the lobby of the hotel. He immediately went over and requested the Hulk head – alas, those were not the pieces he brought – but instead had the full figure big headed Hulk instead! I was psyched to finally get an exclusive movie cup from the latest Avengers movie.
The non-Marvel Legends figures released for the movie were clearly not ever made with the same details or articulation. Even the paint apps are not nearly as impressive. The only thing going for these figures are the more affordable price tag. Of course this set and the Hulk were on the more expensive side of this line.
The crudely painted teenage Groot has random splotches of green paint to illustrate “foliage” and while the Rocket is a near sculpt to the ML figure it’s still not painted as well as its counterpart. With an influx of Rocket merchandise it’s hard to make sure I am gathering it all – but the main focus is on action figures.
I think I found out the reason the two are going to battle. It’s because of this sick burn that Thanos laid down in the midst of Infinity War.
