This issue kicks some ass in both art and story. I really wish there was more story though. It’s unfortunately the current style of writing these days. The pacing has slowed to an absolute crawl and it’s almost infuriating! This issue ends just as things are about to get real interesting, setting up the follow up to be exciting, but that leaves this book just a lot of build up.
We learn that there is wild sunset monster terrorizing a Texas town. The same town that Banner and Charlie are heading towards. We meet a mild mannered man being tortured by the violent visions with the same sunset monster reflecting back at him in the mirror.
When Charlie and Banner arrive they are invited in for the night but Banner says he will camp outside. The residents tell him that he can’t due to the monsters. Then Banner has a vision and knows that the transformation is inevitable.
Charlie and the young boy Jamie check out the World War II motorcycle in the yard but it suddenly becomes engulfed in flames! Jamie says that this means something bad is coming “Sal” is ready to protect them. Another wild Banner transformation happens and “Sal” attacks the Hulk. The issue ends with Ghost Rider Sal and Hulk ready to battle.
