I am certainly looking forward to seeing some fresh Hulk merch on the shelves – of course, Hasbro announced a Hulk/Hulkbuster 2-pack consisting of what looks like the Avengers Hulk with a slightly changed head sculpt and a repainted Hulkbuster BAF. I’m not sure how I feel about them re-releasing BAF characters complete in a 2-pack. It seems like all the work you did to acquire the original (having to purchase an entire line to complete it) is now sort of ridiculous. Either way, maybe you’re happy to get another crack at it with a better paint job or are you a little miffed like I am? Let me know your thoughts…
This looks suspiciously like Part 50 – except this artist took things to a completely different level! Hulk looks like he’s sporting a DDD cup…
I truly love my gammabros – all day I have been getting messages on my Facebook, emails and even comments here telling me that Banner is back! A new title to be coming in June called The Immortal Hulk – looks real good! If you read the interview on CBR it sounds like it’s going to kick all sorts of ass! I can’t wait!
Anyone else hear about this? What do you guys think?
With all the merchandise rolling out for Avengers: Infinity War and realizing that we will not be seeing much of Hulk anything I’m glad we were being served such a huge dose from the last Thor entry. It seems everyone is releasing something based off the Gladiator Hulk. These days it looks to be Diamond Select filling that slot for affordable but impressive looking statues.
What used to be dominated by Bowen Designs – and hopefully we will see his return someday – the smaller scale statues seem to be going the way of the Dodo. Sideshow and others all focus on 1/4 or larger – and while impressive – these gargantuan pieces take up a lot of space and cost close to a mortgage payment. That’s why Diamond Select taking up the mantle with pieces under $100 was so refreshing!
While these statues are fantastic for what you get – keep in mind you will not be seeing the kind of detail you do in more expensive pieces. Still, these pieces do look good! Real good! Keep in mind, these are mostly solid pieces – but here you have to insert the battle axe and hammer into his hand. The paint application on this statue in pretty fantastic as well with a lot of different colors plastering the base and adorning our favorite green goliath!
With this being one of the bigger statues that Diamond has released it runs a little higher than normal retail for this line. But at only $50 you really can’t go wrong! Go out and get this sucker, if you haven’t already!
We finally get a real look… at the Hulk’s hand! It looks as though he may need to visit a pedicurist because his nails are NOT on fleek!
Say what you want about Jason Aaron’s run – it started off with such promise! A tribe of Mole People with the Hulk as their provider? Eating the leg off of a freshly killed oversized creature was awesome! Of course, the Hulk was going to take the biggest portion – that’s just the way it is. Years earlier, Adam Kubert started his run very much like this – but the scene was a lot more graphic – and way cooler. It will be part of this year – but it will have to wait…
Yet another round of 4 Hulk variants came into the LCS this week. I was not able to get a copy of the Infinity Countdown: Prime #1 – the Fixit variant – the one I wanted the most. I had to resort to eBay for that – which I hate to do – but unfortunately, after talking to most of the people who work at the shops, they did not qualify for the variant. So I figure the variant distribution was too out of whack for most of the shops to qualify for.
The Planet Hulk variant is cool but the obedience disc is supposed to be blue – that’s nitpicking – but it’s a pretty odd choice.
