Hulk Transformer (2008)

Hulk Transformer
Hulk Transformer

I would’ve gotten an extra figure to open – but these suckers are a bit expensive!  $15.99 for one figure!  The line has a Spiderman, Venom and Iron Man Transformer – but the best is the Hulk.  He turns from a tank into a Hulk robot of some sort.  I know Iron Man goes from a jet into the Iron Man robot and Venom from a car into a Venom robot of some sort!  I like the idea of 2 great toy companies getting together – but I’m not so sure about this one…  Transformers=Great!  Hulk=Greater!  But, Hulk Transformer= I don’t know what!  Is it a good thing?  One thing is for sure, with a slightly heftier price tag I won’t be finding out.

11 Piece Hulk Set (2008)

Found this at Toys R Us – real quick side note here, I was really trying to cut down on my posting but it just doesn’t seem to be working – I can’t help but post things! – so, Toys R Us, yeah… I heard that the new Marvel Legends line has been leaked into some stores already but had no luck in finding any figures.  I did find other Hulk goodies though!  Like this Hulk Back to school set that comes with 1 notebook, 3 pencils, 2 folders, a mini notebook, a miniture ruler, a pencil bag, an eraser and a pencil sharpener.  All in one handy little package!  What fun!  Sometimes I wish I was still in school!

8″ Plush Hulk (2008)

Stuffed Hulk

My niece, who is pictured in the stand-up post, gave this to me.  She earned it in fact.  While she’s being tutored she can earn tokens and they can buy things with those tokens.  After she earned enough tokens – she bought this for me.  How can you not love a story as sappy and campy as this?  Especially when it’s true!

"I'm Hulk King!"
"I'm Hulk King!"

The plush is about 8″ high and has some real funky hair!  Take a look at the mini-fro he has!  His face says “Don’t mess with me” while his hair says “I want to promote boxers!”  Actually it’s a pretty cool little stuffed Hulk.  The pose is classic and the face is really well done!  Although, he does have holes in the knees of his pants.  What has Hulk been doing on his spare time?  And why did I find a $20 in his pocket?

I have the plush here with the Pillow Pal Hulk for comparison.  The color on both, while not really green, is dead on to each other!  But the little plush needs to take better care of his teeth.

6Ft. Hulk Cut-out (2008)

I’m not a huge fan of cardboard cut-outs – but these are being sold at Block Buster.  I say you should definetly buy one if you can.  These are great.  Especially for $14.99.

One sold on eBay before they were abundant everywhere for $280.00.  Yes $280.00!  I had to message the guy to let him know that he shouldn’t pay for it – that they were $15.00 everywhere else – but he never responded.  I hope there wasn’t really a sap who paid this much for one of these.  It’s cool, but worth almost $300.  Infact, I wouldn’t have paid $20.00 for one of these.

Hulk Collections From Around the Net…

Everyone who comes to my site seems to enjoy just plain looking at Hulk stuff.  There’s something mesmerising about it!  I love looking at other collertor’s collections!  Weird, right?  Well here’s a link to an article featuring 6 Hulk collections that are some of my personal favorites! (By the way – that’s not a picture of me 😛 )

Burger King Hulk Toys (2008)

BK Toys together
BK Toys together
These took me a while to get because they usually all don’t arrive at Burger King all together.  They get one shipment – then weeks later they get another with different toys.  There are 6 different ones you can get.  Here’s my rundown:
Spike Abomination
Spike Abomination

Terrible Pic – but this is the Spike Abimination.  You can push his spine down and then punch him in the face and his spine will shoot up again.  No articulation to this guy – but that’s okay.  Weird pose as well.

Hulk Smash!
Hulk Smash!

Here’s Hulk Smash!  This is the classic double fisted pounding groiund slam by the Hulk.  Again, no articulation and the only attribute it does have is that it makes a funny sound when you slam it down.  I like that his fists are DOUBLE the size of his head.

Hulk Out!
Hulk Out!

This toy is unique because it’s the only Hulk toy EVER that features Betty Banner.  Really!  Betty Banner has never had an action figure or bust or statue.  Spiderman’s wife, Mary Jane, has all 3!  But not Betty.  Even when the ’96 Cartoon was out and Betty was a huge part of it – still no toy – she’s been in every Hulk cartoon created!  But you won’t find a figure.  Until now that is!  And kudos to Burger King for making this toy.  Betty stands on a round base and spins while that picture of the transforming Bruce sways back and forth giving the illustion that he is “Hulking Out!”

Mirror Morph Hulk
Mirror Morph Hulk

I thought this was going to be my least favorite toy.  I was wrong!  It’s a little key chain that looks like a mirror of the Hulk’s footprint.  But when you pull on the plastic chain part the mirror glows with a Hulk face behind it!  What’s that?  You want to see what it looks like all lit up?  Don’t be so lazy!  I can’t do everything for you!  Go to BK and demand this toy!  Then see for yourself!

Dumpster Toss Abomination
Dumpster Toss Abomination

Finally!  A toy with a little articulation!  Hoist Abominatin’s arms up and put the dumpster on top of them.  Then press the little button in the back and he will send the dumpster flying!  Not really, but if you push it a little more then it will seem that way!

Power Flex Hulk
Power Flex Hulk

And, last but not least, we have Power Flex Hulk.  I think this is the toy that will be sought out the most – but it’s the least impressive.  What looks to be a cool toy is actually a toy that you can’t do much with.  When you press a button on the back his abs stick out a bit and he flexs his arms.  But what can you do with a toy like that?  He can’t really fight anyone on that pose!  He could look into a mirror and admire himself – but how long can you play that?  20 minutes at the most?  Maybe you could use Betty to stare at the Hulk while he poses!  You could get another 37 minutes out of this toy then…

Hulk it up Y’all

Marvel donated 100 Hulk #1 comics to the Hero Initiative.  Each cover was drawn by a different artist.  After seeing the Dale Keown I just have one question… How is a guy this talented even human?  He’s some sort of robot, I swear to God.  It was just a sketch on a white comic cover and this is how his came out.  If he were alive in the 1800’s they would’ve thought he was a witch with special drawing powers and burned him alive.  Check out the rest of the covers by clicking on the cover above.

Sideshow Legendary Scale Bust (2008)

LSB1

Let’s start this new format off with a BANG!  First off, let me just say, I was never a fan of this piece in the promo pictures.  I really thought the teeth were too big.  Then I found a killer deal on ebay and when you see it in person – the teeth are not a big deal at all.  The bust is too amazing to focus on the teeth.  Pictures can’t do this bust justice.  I will show some anyways though. 🙂

LSB2

When I pulled this piece from the styrophoam my first thought – believe it or not – was “I thought it’d be bigger”  Not to say it isn’t large – just the pics I have seen and the title alone “Legendary Scale Bust” makes you think it’s going to be absolutely HUGE.  But this “legend” isn’t at a 1:1 scale – more like a 1/2:1 scale.  Still, this piece is REAL heavy.  Shockingly heavy.

LSB4

Once I took it out and displayed it I was able to admire the detail in this piece.  The angry expression on his face is perfectly sculpted.  The bulging veins on his neck and the imperfections in his skin (hulk looks like he had a bit of an acne problem when he was younger) all add to the amazing look of this piece.  The haircut looks to be based off the Hulk from the early 90’s.  Look how it adds to the display in the Hulk room!  It’s about 11 to 12″ and with only 400 made (mine is #34) it’s also a very rare piece.

Shocking Changes to Ratchet’s Hulk Collection!

While I do have more Hulk items – and continue to get more everyday (or almost everyday) – I find that I am trying to hurry to post things – or even that I have such limited time to post everyday.  I know a lot of people have mentioned to me by email and others that they visit EVERYDAY to see the different things I post.  While that is amazing and really humbling to hear how much people enjoy seeing my collection, I need to slow down my postings.  Not only will it give me an opportunity to free up some quality time with my wife but also – it will give me the chance to post more detailed blogs.  It will give me the opportunity to give the attention to the items I am showing and give you more information.  So, starting tomorrow I will be posting twice a week.  Definetly every Wednesday (comic release day) you will see a new post (probably 2 or 3) and once other within the week.  I’m thinking Saturday!  If there is big Hulk news – I will still get it to you, loyal Hulk fans, but I think this will work out for the best – better posts, better blogs, and as always ALL HULK!
