Hulk vs. Black Bolt SHS (2008)

King Hulk Black Bolt
King Hulk Black Bolt

Here is the best 2-pack of Wave 2.  Why?  Well, if you aren’t up on your Hulk history then let me enlighten you… in WWH #1 when the Hulk reaches the moon he is faced with the Inhumans.  Hulk and Black Bolt face off and the end resuly is the Hulk charging after Black Bolt exclaiming “I want to hear you scream!”  Again, if you’re not up on the Marvel info – BlackBolt’s power lies in his voice.  And it was one of the only real great moments of WWH.  The 2nd print used that scene as it’s cover.  Man, it was so memorable that I was psyched to see they made a 2-pack of these characters!  Black Bolt’s costume reminds me of Havock’s classic costume.  See what I mean here.  Except for those metal wings… what the hell do they do?  Wave 3 should be here by Tuesday – maybe Wednesday – I will tell you this though… I would’ve loved for them to make a classic Abomination figure in this series – but we do get another classic villian. Try to guess who!

Latest Custom on Ebay!

I found this custom – man those mighty muggs are quite perfect for customizing!  The King Hulk comes with a sword and an axe and looks really perfect.  Click on the image for the auction – the only thing is that the auction has a reserve, and I’ve already told you how I feel about reserve auctions… (ugh!)  What not just do a Buy It Now or Best Offer?  Those make WAY more sense.

Hulk Party Packs (2008)

Hulk Party Favors
Hulk Party Favors

These are just a couple of packs that are out right now.  They have party plates and cups – Okay, listen, I didn’t buy these!  They were bought for me!  I love my Hulk collection but what the hell am I going to do with these?  You can’t even display them!  I love the action figures – I love the statues – I really love the comics – but I never get this kind of crap.  Hey I love the Hulk but this is a little overkill.  So, until my birthday, I have a few party packs to decorate my room.

I know that’s a crappy thing to leave you with over the weekend – but I have the final SHS figures from wave 2 coming up next week as well as Wave 3 arriving Tues. or Wed.  I have a lot better for next week as well as the review for Skaar #’s 2 & 3 – I waited to give a review for #2 because… well, I forgot.  Sorry.  See you Monday Hulkatics!

Stop & Shop Hulk Display (2008)

So, the manager might’ve thought I was crazy to want this – in fact – he made a weird face and then looked back at me like he was waiting for a punch line when I asked for it.  But none-the less he gave it to me.  He told the kid stocking the shelves with ravioli – hey, save this thing – the uh… Hulk?  Yeah, Hulk – save it for this guy right here.  It sounded even like he was trying to blow me off a little but then, whae I went back one day and the Hulk was not displayed any longer, I asked about it – said it should be saved for me – and the guy came out of the back with it – with the little sticker on it that said “Save for customer”

So, yeah, it holds all the new Hulk movie figures perfectly – all but the 2-packs – but it is great and has the Hulk’s head, chest and right arm on top of the figure holder.  I was pretty psyched because this was the first item that was given to me from the Hulk movie memorabilia.  Then of course the Toys R Us display and the SHS box from Wal-Mart.  What?  I didn’t show you the SHS box yet?  Oh just wait!  It’s awesome!  Coming soon!

Hulk Season 5 – Out Oct. 21st!

Take a look at the cover art to the final season of this series.  It’s due out on October 21st – as well as the COMPLETE SERIES set!  To see it click on the image and go to the site that announced it.  Now, they haven’t mentioned the Hulk movie release date yet – but I am betting it’s going to be on the same day.  Mark my words!

Mutating Abomination Figure (2008)

Mutating Abomination
Mutating Abomination

While the Gamma Charged Abomination has still eluded me I did find the third Abomination figure made from the movie.  It’s the 2-pack with the Emil figure.  The Emil figure fits snugly inside the Abom figure – but again, much like the Mutating Hulk figure, there has to be a sacrificein articulation.  The waist does not move – but he does come with a pair of nun-chucks!  Much like in the movie where the Abom broke off some concrete poles and used them in the final fight this figure has the chucks to swing around!  I am still pretty impressed by the likeness in the Emil and Banner figures.  Emil looks just like Roth!  The Banner figure looks just like Norton.  They may fit in perfectly with the G.I. Joe figures – and can you imagine!?!  Hulkbusters against G.I. Joe figures!  The Hulkbusters would win for sure!  They have to deal with the Hulk on a daily basis – what do the Joes have to handle?  A couple of guys in silver masks who scream alot?  Please… no contest!

She-Hulk & Thing SHS (2008)

She Hulk & Thing SHS
She Hulk & Thing SHS

The second wave has almost been completely shown!  Here is a 2-pack that will surely have collectors going nuts!  But not really.  It’s a Hulk 2-pack without an actual Hulk figure.  I like the Thing figure – and the Thing and Hulk have had some of the best fights in Marvel history so I’m glad that they chose to have a Thing figure in this line – but why pair him with She-Hulk?  To me She-Hulk was a novelty that should have worn off by now.  Really – it was a female version of the Hulk – and her comics never really sold well.  Peter David made She-Hulk somewhat interesting – and Byrne’s She Hulk was pretty funny – but none of her comics sold well.  I guess they paired her with Thing because she was once an honorary part of the Fantastic Four – but not really even a good addition to the group – that’s why she’s still not part of it.  The 2-pack is worth picking up and some friends of the site have said these might be showing up in retail stores – I haven’t seen them – but if you see them pick them up quick because I don’t think they’re going to be too abundant.

Marvel Legends Hulk: The End (2008)

The End
Marvel Legends Hulk: The End

Happy Monday to all!  Hope the weekend was good – let’s start this week off with a bang!  Peter David wrote a very fitting, sad story about the last days of the Hulk.  Dlae Keown drew it – and made us all realize just how much we miss this team onthe Hulk book.  I will admit that I would’ve liked to see more action but, to tell you the truth, this fit so much more than anything I could have ever thought of.  That being said, Marvel Legends released a Hulk from that memorable story.  He’s balding and angry and almost perfectrly captured here – except that the open sores only really happened to the Hulk when the cockroaches attacked.  Here he looks like the zombie version of the Hulk.  With most of the figures I can say there are definite areas that could use improvement – here I would’ve liked to see some realy hair – like real clumps of stringy hair.  But other than that – I do love this figure!

Wolverine #66: Old Man Logan (2008)

Wolverine #66
Wolverine #66

This future, almost elseworlds style, story features a very subdues Logan.  The heroes have fallen and Wolverine, although still alive, has a family and refuses to fight.  He farms on his land with his son and daughter and wife.  He owes rent, that he does not have, to the Banners.  The Hulk’s Granddaughter and her two sons.  One of the best scenes in the whole book is where Wolverine imagines popping his claws (which he hasn’t done since he vowed not to the daythe heroes died) and gutting the older Hulkling.  Since its just a daydream it doesn’t have any repercussions – infact Wolverine gets beat up and they give him one week to come up with the rent.  Hawkeye shows up and offers Wolvie a job, helping deliver goods, since Hawkeye is almost completely blind he needs a guide.  So begins the story – not too bad and of course when the book caught on they reprinted the comic with the cover where Wolverine spills the guts of the elder Hulkling.  It’s very graphic – and like I said – didn’t really happen.  But an interesting story thus far…

Anyways, have a good weekend!  See you on Monday!

Hulk Thermos and Soup Container (2008)

Let’s keep this lunch theme going for another day 🙂

Hulk Thermos
Hulk Thermos

This is a Hulk Thermos that was picked up for me at Target.  It combines the classy-ness of the silver thermos and the Awesome-ness of the Hulk!  It’s Clawesome!  When you press the button at the top the cover flips open and reveals a hidden straw.  It’s actually pretty neat!  I’m jealous of what the kids now adays get.  All this cool merchandise, they get ipods and cell phones as soon as they come out of the womb and to top it all off – they don’t get spanked anymore!  But they are forced to still eat soup – which is a punishment in itself – because soup really sucks.  But if you have to eat soup, at least you can store it in here!  The Hulk soup container!  Still silver, so still clawesome!  With the images coming from the new Hulk movie you’ll seem in the now and still up to the minute!

How Freakin’ Cool!

I found this image at a great website.  It’s an advertisement for Hulk #181 – but you notice they don’t show the Hulk – they show a new character, Wolverine!  They must’ve known what a cool character they had on their hands – when was the last time you saw an advertisment for a new charater that no one even heard of?  A little Hulk history – just for you guys!  Hope you liked it!  Click on the image for the great, funny website.
