This is not a bad figure, not as great as the Marvel Legends figure, but definetly worth getting. In the Incredible Hulk comic #364 the “Countdown” series, Hulk is injected with a poison that will kill him unless he gets the antidote. In the first issue of this series he fights the Abomination and melts his face with toxic waste. They show that in this figure here, which is brillant. Nice figure – a solid 8 out of 10. But what’s with the cape? when did he get a cape? And why? It’s not like he can fly. Come to think of it – does a cape help you fly? What’s the point of any superheroes cape?
Tempest Fugit Shirt (2007)
This is the cover to the conclusion to Tempest Fugit. Which, of course, is when Peter David came back to write the Hulk after the horrible Bruce Jones was finally done doing his damage to the title. Peter David basically wrote that everything that happened to the Hulk under Jones pen was… wait for it… a dream. I know, I know, not that creative – but we all took it with such delight because Jones was finally off the book and everything he wrote was now all erased off the Hulk continuity.
By the way, my wife loves when I talk Hulk like this. It gets her all hot. So hot in-fact she gets a headache and takes a nap in the other room.
Just bought this at New England Comics in Quincy.
Blacklight Posters (1996)
Marvel Legends Abomination (2006)
This is the best Abomination figure ever made. This is also the first time The Abomination has made an appearence on my website. Hulk and his strongest foe have battled many times – but none so brutal as in Hulk #25 (volume 3) – Abomination confessed to poisoning and killing Betty Banner. And the Hulk let loose a severe beating to the likes that Abominations face was broken to pieces. What a nice job Marvel Legends did on the variant of this piece showcasing Hulk’s damage to him. Comes with a reproduction of said comic.
The Leader (2007)
Gamma Punch Hulk (2004)
Hulk Postcards 3 (2005)
Hulk Party Plates & Candy Sticks (1995)
“Ground Zero” Comics (1989)
This is one of the best Hulk stories ever told. In-fact, the very first Hulk comic I ever owned was the Comic bottom center – #343 – and some of the best covers came out of this series as well. #344, The Hulk soaring through the air with Betty hanging on and the moon in the back-round. #345 is classic. #341 against the man-beast is one of my favorite comics of all time. And of course, #340 vs. Wolverine goes for about $40. I have the trade collecting all of the comics. If you have the chance, read this right away. Then you will be a Hulk fan – I guarantee it. Then you will start your own Hulk Website, then we will be enemies. I can hardly wait.
Hulk Christmas Ornaments (1991)(2003)
Boogie Board (1999)
Not really sure when I got this but I know I found it at Toys R Us in Kingston. I remember that I had just gotten my first credit card and had promised my parents that I wouldn’t get myself into debt with it. I had no cash when I spotted this beauty – but you better believe that I whipped out that credit card faster than ever! Thank you Discover Card! If you look close you can see a trail of drool coming out the right side of Hulk’s mouth. I love the illustration they chose. Alot beter than the overly animated Hulk that they stamped on everything when the movie came out.
Incredible Hulk #347 (1990)
This is the start of Mr. Fixit. Hulk went missing after Ground Zero. No one knew where he was. But that’s because Hulk had found a new life in Las Vegas. He thought he was rid of Banner, thought that it was just him left – had all the women and respect he could ask for. Things were really looking up for the Hulk…
Of course, it never stays that way for very long, does it?
This is the beginning of Jeff Purves as the artist on the Hulk, and while it takes him a little while to find his own style in these comics, I think the cover is just great.
Smart Hulk 2 (2003)
Have you ever seen a Hulk action figure that you wanted to poke him in the eyes, steal his glasses and give him a wedgie? I think the glasses really do it here for me. He looks like a total nerd. And since when did Hulk need glasses? Doesn’t his healing factor take care of any astigmatism he might have? Banner needed the glasses – Hulk doesn’t. and the really tight wife beater is a real step down here. He’s a tough guy with the wife beater – and then you look at him with those glasses and think “He’s not getting any women in those things.”
Hulk Posters (1999)
These, I’m ashamed to say, were posters that I might’ve taken without permission. Trust me, I feel bad, but sometimes there’s a Hulk poster in a comic shop window – that I know if I asked for it they would say yes anyways – so sometimes, not all the time mind you, I cut out the middle man and just take the poster. I think that’s how I aquired these two.
