Incredible Hulk #330 & #333 (1987)

330/333

McFarlane was a master.  He was an illustrator at a time when superstars were being born in the comic world.  His first Hulk issue – 330 – didn’t even have the real Hulk in it.  The Hulk on the cover is Rick Jones as the Hulk.  In this issue Gen. Ross dies (but don’t worry, he gets better) and Sampson is controlled by a head monster.  Pretty entertaining issue.

333 is far and away my favorite McFarlane cover.  The cover is a bit deceptive, seeing as the story deals with an abusive sheriff and his abused wife.  The ending is classic Grey Hulk and I think shows off just what a great writer Peter David is and was and how sorely he is missed on the Hulk.

Hulk Pez (1990’s)

Pez

I have the Hulk Pez carded and bagged – different head sculpt on the card (and the second one in is in Japanese packaging)  I have a loose Pez and even a different Pez altogether.  The one that has a little body to go along with it almost shoots the Pez out.  I think if you are going to buy Pez that you should get the ones on the card because the ones in bags only come with 2 packages of Pez, while the carded ones have 3.  More Pez means more fun, in my opinion.

Bend’ems Hulk (1989)

Bendy Hulk

I have this as a loose figure – I already posted it – but once, on a trip to Florida, I found this auto body shop that doubled as a toy shop.  Really funny place.  The guy who owned it rented part of it out to a guy who worked there so that the guy could display and sell his collection of toys.  This was the only Hulk piece there – so I had to buy it.  I like having my figures on the original card.  If I could find some of the older toys, cheap, on th original card I’d buy them that way.  I just think they look better in the package.  Plus, for displaying purposes, it looks alot less cluttered if you have then in the original packaging.

Not so sure about those pink pants though…

Hulk Christmas Tree (2003)

Hulk Tree

If you look closely you will see that this item was marked down from $20.00 to 10 cents.  This was a bargain at 10 cents – but had I known it existed before I saw it at the clearance section – I would’ve totally bought it.  It comes with free ornaments and a puke, neon green fake tree.  This was another Toys R Us exclusive that went horribly awry I think.  Along with the Silver Anniversary Wolverine that no one is buying.

Hulk Poster (2007)

Poster

Just got this one.  I think Mark Sylvestri (I don’t know if that is spelt right) is so much better when he inks his own stuff.  Alot of inkers seem to muddle his drawings too much.  Alot of the posters that I have I got for free… some way or another.  This one Corry gave me.  Others I will tell you about later.

UPDATE: As the comment says – this poster is done by Michael Turner.  Ans it is the variant cover to Hulk #100 – which I did know – but than you to Corry for so politely explaining that in his comment.

Hulk Napkins (1995)

nappys

These were a gift.  Weird right?  Someone gets you a gift- you open it and… it’s napkins.  I think I even thanked the person who got me them.  I think it was my friend Kelly.  When I found these in the storgae bin where I keep them – I was laughing – thinking to myself, I can’t wait to put these on the website!  So here they are.

Hulk Lunch Boxes (1980)(1999)

Lunch boxes

These are the Luck Boxes I have so far.  Most are novelty lunch pails, not really used for lunches.  The only genuine lunchbox in this set is the metal one with Spiderman and the Hulk on it.  The otherside features Captian America, who died this year, so it’s not a real HULK lunch box.  I’ve seen many of these on ebay going for waaaayyy too much, so I will wait and see what comes my way.

Notice the re-coloring of the Hulk from grey to green on the lunchbox featuring Incredible Hulk #1?  They do that a few times with items that I have.  Boo to that.  It’s like when they go back and colorize old movies.  It just shouldn’t be done.

Incredible Hulk #120 (1969)

120

This is one of my favorite covers.  Mostly because of the guy in the front yelling “Kill him!”  Then he clarifies “Kill the Hulk!”  Like one of the soldiers was thinking “Who did he mean?  Kill him?  Who him?  I need direction here!”  It actually doesn’t even look like he’s pointing at the Hulk.  It looks like he’s pointing at the guy with the Gatling gun.

The story is with Maximus and the Inhumans and of course, General Ross.  Stan Lee wrote this cool issue, but for me, it’s all about the indecipherable cover.
