Grey Hulk vs. Leader SHS

The second 2-pack of wave 3 is one of the best – featuring my favorite Hulk villian of all time – The Leader! Classic style Leader too, with the tall head, although, this Leader seems to be really happy about something. I don’t think the Leader has ever been this happy about anything – but good lord – maybe he finally figured out how to make a female version of those pesky humanoids he was always making. Did they ever really HELP him in anyway to complete his evil genius plans? I don’t think so…
Anyways, the Leader also comes with one of his handy little remotes. The Leader bust by Randy Bown also had him carrying one of those – which makes sense because it’s not the Leader ever fought his battles – he’s more of a behind the scenes villian. Which is one of my favorite things about him.

The Grey (Gray) Hulk in this 2-pack is a repainted movie Hulk. I don’t mind getting some of the same figures, seriously, as long as they have tried to do SOMETHING to make it a little different. Making this Hulk grey was all I needed to be happy with this awesome 2-pack.
Before I end this post I just wanted to let everyone know that hasbrotoys.com has these and the 3rd wave of the movie Hulk figures on sale for retail prices. Sure, you still have to pay for shipping, but it’s better than having to pay for the inflated prices that ebay is offering – and still have to pay for shipping! – Thanks to Toyjesus for bringing this to light last week.
Miniature Alliance Hulk (2008)

I got these about a month ago – I’m not sure if they are part of a role playing game or if Marvel is trying to capitalize on The Classic Marvel Figurine Collection – the little lead painted guys – but these aren’t too shabby. There are two releases of each figure – one is a figure that has a base so it can stand and the other is a key chain. Since I have the coolest key chain in the world (I showed you yesterday) then I left this one on the package. Pretty sweet overall – they also have Cap, Spiderman, Wolvie, Iron Man and Venom in this series – now all I have to wait for is the inevitable grey variant…

Gray Hulk Video Game Figure (2008)

I did promise you 2 posts today – so here is a very new – very rare figure out there. That’s right, I have some of the wave 3 Movie Hulk Figures. Let me tell you – they were not easy to find – nor are they cheap. Each of the figures are based on the video game that was based on the movie. You can use a bunch of different Hulk personalities – one being the gray (man, when will people stop spelling it with an a?) Hulk.

The figure itself is really cool – the color… ummm… looks a bit sloppy. Listen, I would have gotten this figure either way, but, this figure looks like a mess! I do like the STOP sign that he comes with. It’s pretty realistic with the screws in the sign and the rubble on it’s base. Overall, if I were grading figures, this figure would get a B-. By all means, if you are lucky enough to see these figures in the stores then pick it up. If you choose not to keep it then you can make a small profit by selling it on ebay. Anyways, see you tomorrow!
Hulk Key Chain (2008)
So, the issue from yesterday still in unresolved – I will fill you in after there is a mutual agreement on how to fix the situation. But, ON TO THE HULK STUFF!

This here is a key chain that I was psyched to find. This was found at the Newbury Comics in Kingston and they do have other characters – a big Spiderman Head, Iron Man Head – but I didn’t expect to see a huge Hulk head to follow suit! I love this keychain – mainly because, even though there is no name on the front of the head, people still know it’s the Hulk! It’s not too heavy or bulky to make carrying your keys uncomfortable, so yeah, that’s a plus. I once had a friend (still do – but stories are so much better when people say it like it happened in the past) who had a big alien head for a key chain – when it broke off the key chain he used it as a necklace – it was a lot cooler than it sounds – but the head was so heavy it actually bruised him where the head would constantly hit him. Hulk would never do that.
My kitty loves the Hulk!

Sorry – I know I should post something a little more worthwhile – but I just received a really expensive Hulk piece today and opened it to discover it’s chipped. Now I’m trying to deal with that and communicate with the seller – so… I will post something better tomorrow – in fact I will post 2 somethings tomorrow – but for now enjoy the pic of Potter and her favorite couch in the house!
Hulk Mask (1978)

I love finding unique Hulk items like this one – it’s a Hulk mask from 1978, even has that Ferigno look to it, and it’s way more comfortable then any on the newer masks they have on the market. It’s rubber – but the back is cloth and hair – so it doesn’t get too hot when wearing it. Once I got it I had my neice put it on and threw the Hulk hands on her and scared her little brother half to death. It happened so quick I couldn’t get any pictures. But it was hilarious 😀

I found a few Hulk masks at my local costume shop – but I’m not sure I want to buy them (I probably will – but maybe save some money by buying off ebay) but none of them are as cool as this one though. I love these vintage pieces. So much more personality than the new stuff. Although, I do love the new stuff!
Doc Samson vs. Hulk SHS

Here is the first SHS of wave 3 that decided to show, mainly because it’s the most disappointing. And that’s because this 2-pack was first promised to come with a Red Hulk but instead we get a re-issue of the first series SHS Hulk. No really – the exact figure – not repainted or anything! Even if they tried and gave him grey skin – this series has a grey Hulk but I doubt anyone would complain about 2 grey Hulks! Here’s a photo of the Samson/Hulk 2-pack with the Hulk/Wasp 2-pack. As you can see – same exact figure! Well, at least they did pose his arms a bit different…

Just kidding – still feel a bit ripped off. But no worries – the rest of the line gets better from here!
Look Here! Green Hulk Variant! Out Soon!
Marvel Legends Son of Hulk (2008)

He has 3 comics out (2 when this figure was released) and already gets a figure. Man, Marvel’s really invested in this idea, huh? I guess that’s good though – and the figure isn’t too bad either! I think the sculpt is done well – but the figure really doesn’t look like the comic character – I don’t know what it is, maybe too bulky? It doesn’t look bad though… My favorite part of this figure is the HUGE freakin’ sword that he comes with. It’s bigger then his head!
The coloring isn’t so… good. He’s a light teel-ish color. I guess it fits but I think he would look a bit better if the coloring was darker. Also, I noticed that it doesn’t say Skaar on the package – maybe they weren’t sure what his name was going to be when they designed the packaging – they just knew he was the Hulk’s son, thus the SON OF HULK title. Pretty sweet figure though and the end of the Marvel Legends Figures.

Hulk Movie Sticker Book (2008)

Yeah, that’s right! It’s a sticker book! What? Look, this has… stickers! Of the Hulk! Man, I can’t even claim someone else bought this for me! I bought this myself at Mid-Town Comics in New York the same time I bought TTA #59. I also bought a magnet that I have to post sometime. I used to have all sorts of stickers and a few different sticker books when I was in Elementary school – maybe that’s why I bought this – I’ll never really know I guess but, if anything, I will never have a boring moment with my kids. We’ll have plenty of Hulk goodness to play with!
Mighty Smashing Hulk vs. Hulkbuster

This is the last 2-pack that was released. It features another Hulk with a hulkbuster soldier. The sculpt is pretty much the same here as on any of the other figures – but with better articulation than on the Mutating Hulk because he can at least move his waist. The Hulk’s face is so much better than the image below gives it credit for. Everytime I see that picture I can’t help but think of Sloth from the Goonies.
Why does the Hulkbuster look like he’s aiming for the Hulk’s junk? Is this the only way the Hulkbuster can figure to take the Hulk out? I can hear the command now “Aim for Hulk’s Johnson!” I mean, that’s just rude, right?
