I’ve only seen this at Toys R Us – and I’ve already mentioned mt affinity for items that are representing scenes from the movie – so here is a radio controlled helicopter. This is no toy – it actually flies and turns and… oh, who am I kidding – this is a toy! It’s just an awesome toy! I can’t wait to try this out – I will definitely be posting pics when I break this bad boy out!
Hulk Coloring Book (2008)
I like how this coloring book comes with 3 huge double tipped crayons! What a treat! Now you can cut them all in half and have 6 really short crayons! And most of them being really similar in color! This coloring bookis obviously from the movie and features a very kid-friendly fight through New York between Hulk and Abomination. Not bad – and the likeness of Norton is awesome! Bought at Toys R Us in Dartmouth.
Ummm… Part 19

Why must we see Hulk bodies with little animal heads? That’s just plain creepy. And somewhat confusing. I also have no idea why the kitty-Hulk is holding the President in his hand. Looks like the President made the wrong person mad… well, actually, he kind of did!

Kirby Hulk Shirt (Hulk Shirt 19)(2008)
I bought this at the same time as I bought the Movie Hulk shirt at Bedrock Comics in Framingham. I love this shirt and have already worn it twice. I wore it to a cookout last Saturday where we had a fire pit and I went home smelling of fire smoke (the best smell ever). My shirt still smells like that smoke and I love it! What a classic image to put on a shirt – when the Hulk was still a menacing creature that was so visually arresting you had no choice but to pay attention to him! I love Kirby’s image of the Hulk so much that it’s almost a shame the Hulk’s look has changed so much over the years.
Dynamic Forces Green Hulk Bust (2003)
I did get the Graham Cracker exclusive variant of the “Gray” bust. This version is actually better than I thought it would be. The color is really bright and the sculpt look appropriate for the color in both. I think these busts are the weakest of all the busts – but still, in person, they look rather cool. Especially if you have both and display them together.
This is still limited to 1963 (which still makes no sense – but this one is # 1399) and why does the variant say “Gray Hulk” while this one just says “Hulk”. I think a variant should also have a lower run. Just my opinion – but I think it would be cooler to have both statues if they BOTH didn’t ahve a run of 1,963. Nevermind it being the wrong number to commemerate the date of our favorite green and grey goliath!
Hulk #4 (2008) – The Review
This has the… oh, sorry – if you plan on reading this comic and don’t want to knowabout it yet, DON’T READ THIS REVIEW, it has spoilers – anyways, this has the much awaited Hulk vs. Hulk. It starts with the Red Hulk sucker punching the Watcher, really for no reason. Kind of a cheesy moment but I know of a few people who thought that was “AWESOME” – I don’t get it. Dude, he watches, that’s all. Is there any reason to beat on him? But then the Green Hulk starts to battle the Red. At first the Green Hulk is really giving the Red Hulk a good fight, then the Red Hulk breaks the Green Hulks arm and puts him in a sleeper hold, knocking him out. Then we join Iron Man where he is being told that the body of Clay Quatermain is found. Commander Hill also finds the ripped uniform of Doc Samson – covered in Gamma Radiation. We rejoin the Red Hulk on the Golden Gate Bridge (at least it looks like the Golden Gatre Bridge) where the Red Hulk is telling the Hulk he is about to shoot him and kill him – but the Green Hulk bites the end of the gun and ruins that play. They fight just a bit more before the Red Hulk knocks the Green off the bridge – or more THROUGH the bridge – and the Red Hulk continues to brag until he is interrupted by Thor.
So it is definetly the Savage Hulk that the Red Hulk is fighting. I don’t know why he is the stupid Hulk again – wish Loeb would explain that – but I think it is working against the story. When the Red Hulk beats him you feel like he just beat up a retarded boy. No one wants to see that. Well, most people don’t want to see that. They are setting the Red Hulk up to be the strongest being that has ever entered the Marvel Universe. Stronger than the Green Savage Hulk. And meaner too. He is obviously the enemy and hasn’t done anything that might even be considered heroic. It seems that the Red Hulk is NOT Leonard Samson – otherwise Loeb wouldn’t be shoving that idea down our throats. It will be a shock, someone no one has thought of and it will come out of left field. Still waiting for something really worthwhile to happen. Not just shocking for no other reason other than to be shocking (See: knocking out the Watcher). I’m with it for the long haul – but I hope the Red Hulk isn’t just another thing that Marvel will have to apologize to fans for (See: Ben Rielly from the Clone Saga) McGuiness’ art is still good, just fun – nothing awe-inspiring though. B-
This is… Actually, It’s Kind of Gross.
Hulk Shirt 18 (2008)
I’m posting this (the last shirt I posted was way back in November!) but this isn’t even the cooler one I bought! I thought I’d show you this one first and then dazzle you with the other one I bought tomorrow. I bought this shirt because I thought it wasn’t too tacky to wear and still shows the movie Hulk. I bought this at a great comic shop I found in Framingham, MA called Bedrock Comics. I think, I didn’t ask but with my keen powers of observation I was able to deduce, that next to the comic shop is a candy store owned by the Comic owner’s wife. Check out Bedrock Comics for some friendly service.
Incredible Hulk Movie Book (2008)
This is not the easy reader one – and not the adult adaptation – it is the one that is right in the middle. I think it’s the perfect thing to give to kids that you are trying to give an appreciation for books. I found this at Toys R Us in Dartmouth – which is strange becasue I haven’t found it anywhere else! I do have EVERY adaptation of the movie now – which is awesome – or sad, whichever way you want to look at it!
Incredible Hulk Utility Belt (1979)
What more would you need to become the Hulk? This has it all! An Incredible Hulk voice modulator! And this little belt that fits snuggly around you waist – the plastic must be so comfortable! It also comes with Hulk wrist bands! Wait, wrist bands? The Hulk doesn’t need wrist bands! He’s not Wonder Woman! That’s just ridiculous! Also, a Gamma Radiation Detector is supplied. Remco released 2 versions of these here – I’m still looking for the other one – but this is a great specimen – complete in the original box! Remco also made a Spiderman Utility Belt in 1979.
Lou Ferigno Custom Figure!
I really am impressed with some of the custom Hulk figures I see. Some I’m not so impressed with – but I’d rather not mention those and turn this blog into an ugly bashing blog. I usually don’t bother even looking at customs – I don’t buy them because they go for so much money and I prefer commercially sold items. Customs are very inventive indeed – and I would never put customs down – I’m just not into them. But this custom impressed me enough to show you. Click on the image and you will see just how much it is going for…
UPDATE: This figure went for a whopping $590! Almost $600 – and in pesos that’s like a billion-gillion dollars!
Hulk Bobble Head (2008)
This toy is, as you can tell, sitting on my dashboard. I bought it when I went into Newbury Comics and they had nothing else Hulk in the whole shop – so, you see, I had to buy it! I think it fits really well on my dasboard. This is called a Wacky Wobbler and made by Funko it is supposed to represent the Movie Hulk. I think it looks pretty good and like how the movie Hulk was very similar to what you see in the comics. I personally like a lighter shade of green – and they have a Comic-Con Exclusive that is more of the neon green – but I don’t think I will be getting that one. Of course, if you read this blog regularly, then you will know that I said I wasn’t going to buy this toy either!
Man, I lie like a dog, Huh? I seriously have NO willpower when it comes to Hulk merchandise!
People Need To Realize…
When you leave a huge Hulk statue outside of your establishment, day or night, it will not be there for long! People LOVE to take things – and I can’t say I’m not guilty of this myself (but I won’t bore you guys with any of those stories) especially if they can get it for free! But with all of the surveillance cameras and everything I really don’t recommend taking any of the movie standees. It’s too bad they all showed up on ebay for $3100 each – because more people will be apt to trying to just take them, rather than pay that much for one. Man, I’m bummed I’m not getting one of these. Click on the pics for links to stories about disappearing Hulk all over the country…
Tales to Astonish #60 (1964)
It is widely regarded that the Hulk’s first TTA is the above, #60, but it it also known by many that the Hulk also appeared in TTA #59! So what is the deal? Well, the Hulk – after his comic was cancelled – was still a huge part of the comic continuity. Hulk was actually very popular – but unsure if he could carry his own title he started co-featuring in this little rag above! But as far as TTA #59 (which I still need to get) Hulk actually fights Giant Man. Giant Man starred in this book until Namor took over – but it was Hulk that really sold this comic. And starting with Hulk #102 he had that chance! And the rest was history!
