There are pictures of the new movie figures due out sometime before the movie opens on June 13th . The Hulk looks like the Hulk! The Abomin..a…tion… ummm… is that the Abomination? He looks… nothing like the Abomination. Click on the image for the link to the sneak peeks!
Cardboard Cut-Out Hulk (1995)
Storytime! I once had a girlfriend who wanted, so badly, to get me something Hulk that I do not have. She wanted to get me something that I would love more than anything in the whole world. She got me this. When I opened it I smiled and said “Thanks” because, to tell you the truth, I knew about these – but didn’t want it – simply put, I find these things a huge waste of space and money. But hey! As a gift – that’s fine. My girlfriend wasn’t so happy that I wasn’t the happiest I’d ever been in my whole life. She subsequently vowed that she’d never buy me another Hulk item as long as she lives. I told her she was right and I broke up with her. Not really for this – but hey – it makes the story wrap up nicely!
Kind of Disturbing…
This is an article featuring the sad, sad story of Herb Trimpe’s firing from Marvel and what went on after…

Abomination Bust (2003)
This controversial bust is a very unique vision of the Hulk’s 2nd best enemy -The Abomination. The Abomination never really looked like this in the comics, and he seems to be scared of something. Dynamic Forces produced 350 pieces (what was originally supposed to be 750) but maybe it just wasn’t popular enough.
This one is #31. I really like this version of the Abomination – and it doesn’t hurt that I got it for an amazingly reduced price from the original retail price of $150.00. Let’s say – I didn’t pay anything near that.
Do we really need another…?
You can buy a car… or this!
It’s like an epidemic! But just watch – by the time I can afford one they will all be gone. tucked away in private collections. Who comes up with the prices on these things anyways? $6,000.00 can buy alot of hot-dogs. Or peanutbutter. You could either remodel your kitchen or buy this stretch figure.
The more I see them, selling for outrageous prices like these, the more I think that no one should buy them. People buy them for these prices and it will only get worse. But if you can afford it – then I guess you should go for it.
No one has bought the other one yet… but as always, I will keep you posted.
UPDATE: So, this auction ended before it even started. No one bid – no one won it. The seller, for some reason ended the auction early. Maybe his conscience got to him.
Nice Haul from Chris’ Comics – 2/5/2008
I was looking through the back issue bin and saw a few issues I needed. Then, as I was purchasing my loot, the owner tells me about a higher, hidden bin. A bin of comics that he doesn’t just let anyone go through. A bin of older, good condition comics – a ton of great comics that I need, like the 120’s. I will be going back next week and report to you…
What I got yesterday was:
# 186
# 206
# 213
# 221
# 301
# 303
# 305
& # 309
Pretty good haul – but nothing to what I will get next week!
Incredible Hulk #181 (1974)
One of the most famous Hulk issues – with one of the most famous Marvel characters of all time! That’s right, if you weren’t aware, Wolverine first appeared here – in Incredible Hulk #181. Actually, he appeared in the last panel in #180, but in this issue is the first time that you see Wolverine in action. Plus here’s right there on the cover – in full color – slashing at the Hulk! A lot of things are introduced here including Wolverine’s healing factor, his adamantium claws and his beserker fighting style. Although this fight ends abruptly, never showing who would be the clear winner (just kidding, we all know it would be the Hulk) we see, in Wolverine, a great, fun character that we want to see more and more!
The cover art by Herb Trimpe is based on John Romita Sr.’s sketches of what Wolverine would look like. But if you ask – all three, Len Wein (the writer), Trimpe and Romita get credit for creating what Wolverine looks like.
This wonderful addition to my Hulk library was a house-warming gift by a great friend of mine. Thank you Corry.
By the way, before I actually opened this – before Corry gave it to me – I never even held a #181 in my hands. I vowed that I wouldn’t hold one until I owned one.
World War Hulk Bust (2008)
There are two busts out currently based on the World War Hulk storyline. Each was made by Diamond Select – one was supposed to be limited to 1000 – it is now limited to 800. The one in the pictures was supposed to be the variant limited to only 200 – but instead it’s limited to 500. This is #29.
I received this bust right after I got the Bowen Busts – and this is significantly smaller – and thus, a bit of a let down, when it appeared at my door. I still like the sculpt – and the fact that they made busts based on this storyline – but this bust is proof that Bowen is the leader in his field and that no one else even comes close to Bowen perfection in statues and busts.
Hulk Back Issues 171-174
These are a small lot I got off ebay. I hate picking up back issues off ebay – but if there is a lot of comics that I need – and they are a good price – then I fold like a chair. As I start narrowing the numbers that I need it is harder to find said comics, so ebay may be my only real shot. This small lot was great and it nearly finished off the 170’s that I need. I love the cover with The Juggernaught. Classic.
Grey Hulk Lead Figure (2007)
I showed you the green figure – now here is the grey. These little guys are great, but I’m not so sure I would want to collect all of these. Some people strictly collect these figures. That’s a whole lot of lead paint in your house! They haven’t made any of the Hulk’s rouge’s – but I will wait to see. These little guys sell pretty well here (they come from over-seas) but I don’t know if they sell well enough for this series to keep going…
By the way, sorry for the crappy pic…
Holy Cow!!!
Hulk Seasons 3 & 4 – Out June 3rd!!!
Seasons 3 & 4 are coming to DVD on June 3rd! Check out the announcement by clicking on the image above. This will coincide with the release of the Hulk movie coming out the 13th. This is pretty great news… because it took almost 4 years to get the 9th season of Cheers to come out – thankfully to the new movie we won’t have to wait that long for the Hulk!
The New Blog… Library Shows
I set up a blog specifically to showcase the Library displays that I put up. Every year I put different parts of my collection in different libraries – the children love to see it! Check it out here. This blog will have posts now and again – but not as often as this blog does. But still worth seeing I think.
