This box is empty – I swear. The cereal was a solid 6/10. Compared to classics like Honey Comb and Frosted Flakes its pathetic. In fact – it’s exactly like Lucky Charms, but instead of cool little good luck charms you eat marshmallow Hulks, and little marshmallow Bunsen beakers. Gee, I wonder why this cereal didn’t last? You might say it was limited edition cereal – only out for the movie release- I say they knew they had a clunker the moment of inception.
Marvel Masterworks – Hulk vs. Thing (2007)
This diorama set is a great new addition to my collection, bought in New York by my friend Corry for me. The white that you see is water – Hulk stepped in a puddle. Hulk looks like he’s about to pummel the Thing – and the Thing’s just grabbing the Hulk’s hands – whining like, “Please, stop! Don’t beat my punk ass!” But Hulk will anyways – because he always does. I think I went a bit overboard on this post.
Talking Hulk (1991)
Talking Hulk?! Well, not exactly… there’s a little pack that does the talking – the figure without that pack is still a mute. This was Marvel and Toy Biz trying to get away with stealing more money from consumers with the same exact figure they’ve released a hundred times before… AND IT WORKED – BECAUSE I BOUGHT IT! I bought this from a Comic convention I attended in Boston.
Silver Age Hulk (1999)
This is one of the smallest Hulk figures I own. Not to mention it looks like his shirt is made out of polyester. He also looks slightly agitated – not angry – maybe he’s just upset about his new bowl haircut. Unique figure to say the least. I don’t see this figure around much. Maybe there’s a reason.
Hulk T-Shirts (2007)
I just recently bought these shirts. They’re both images from World War Hulk that is going on right now. I have quite a few Hulk shirts – I just have to find them all to show you. I like the battle shirt that has the Fantastic Four, Spiderman, She-Hulk, and Luke Cage trying to take the Hulk down. I’ve never worn any of my Incredible Hulk t-shirts. Not because I don’t like them or would be embarrassed – but because I hate wearing shirts that have anything on them. Got the one on the top at Hot Topic in Dartmouth, the other at New England Comics in Quincy.
Incredible Hulk DVD’s (2003)
Most of these were brought out in 2003 to try to capitalize on the movie. Too bad the movie wasn’t liked very much. The Ultimate Collection has some of the best episodes from the television show. The 2 animated DVD’s – the second one collects 3 or 4 of the ’96 animated show – and the first one collects the entire ’66 animated show that I bought off ebay. They’re not bad… they’re just not that good either. Then I have the T.V. movies made with Thor and Daredevil in a cool 2-pack that comes with a little comic highlighting points from the movies themselves. I also have the original movie – which I got anyways when they started to release the seasons. I will post those later.
Spiderman Dart Set (19??)
I’m not sure when this came out because it has no date on it – I will do more searching and try to find out – but what did catch my attention is the fact that the Hulk is only worth 100 points! And that’s the lowest points awarded on this whole dart set! Hulk’s worth the lowest? Lower than the Thing? That’s just ludicrous.
Mr. Fixit Bust (2001)
It seems like so long ago – but it was only six years ago that this pretty little bust came out. Mr. Fixit by Bowen. A few years after the green Hulk bust (I already posted that) came this little charmer. #2038 out of 2500 – it had a slightly smaller run than the green counterpart. I like this bust – except – what’s with that tie? Hulk have bad taste. Hulk need a visit from those Queer Eye guys. The bust had a McFarlane feel to it – even though McFarlane never drew a Fixit issue – but he always drew the Hulk with really pronounced eyebrow areas. I can’t get over that tie. It’s covering his abs! Boo, bad decision.
Hulk Annual (1998)
Hey look! Hulk blue himself. There’s got to be a better way to say that…
Anyways, this cover shows Hulk under the water and, yes, BLUE. May be it was the water – or maybe he was holding his breath for a wicked long time – alright, I admit it, I never read this one. I was still in shock of Peter David’s departure from writing and the fact that his last story was so amazing – the death or Betty Banner. But I thought this cover was cool nonetheless and think it’s still a noteworthy issue becuse of his color. If anyone knows why he is blue in this issue leave a comment explaining why. I guess I could read it myself now… oh, who am I kidding? I’m way too lazy for that!
The Maestro (1996)(2007)
How amazing is Peter David as a writer? Future Imperfect is a perfect example of how creative this man got writing the Incredible Hulk. This was a 2 shot that had Hulk facing a future version of himself. The ending was not only shocking but brilliant.
These figures are some of my favorites of my collection. The first was from the Incredible Hulk “Transformations” line. That is the better figure – even though the Marvel Legends Maestro has a better paint job – you can’t get much cooler accesories than the first. Take a look at the belt across his chest – he has the helmets for Juggernaught, Dr. Doom, Iron Man and Nova – as well as Captain America’s shield, Thor’s Hammer, Dr. Strange’s cape and the best accessory of all – Woverine’s Skeleton.
This figure came out in 1996 while the Legends figure just came out this year. I appreciate that they did a different look to the Maestro for the Legends figure – in his royal garb. Both figures are a thumbs way up.
Hulk Rage Cage (1991)
There are a few versions of Hulk figures breaking from cages. I have this from a comic shop in Worsester where an ex-girlfriend went to college. This comic shop (I forgot the name – it was a really long time ago) had an unbelievable selection of stuff. There was even an original Flinstones strip from the dailies. This figure has Hulk ripping out of his painted on shirt. That’s gotta be pretty hard to do. The cage itself is pretty flimsy – You wouldn’t even need Hulk streangth to break out of this cage. It looks like a couple of fifth graders science project. Imagine them bringing Hulk into class saying “Don’t worry, he’s in our very solid ca… OH CRAP! HE BROKE OUT! HOW’D HE DO THAT! Those bars were put together so… AAAAAAUUUUGH!”
Hulk Pencils (1978,1997,2003)
I don’t think I paid for one of these things. I know that the peach pencil with the Hulk on the top is from 1978 and it was a gift for Christam one year, the pencil with the Hulk holding to the top was from 1997 and someone bought it for me when I was working at Toy R Us. The last I recieved at a book fair in Marshfield – but it just says HULK on it. No picture.
Lead Hulk Figure (2007)
You can’t handle this figure and then eat a ham sandwich. That could be deadly. It is painted with actual lead paint – that paint that has proven to cause cancer – they used to paint this heavy figure. But which is worse? That they sell this or that I bought it? I couldn’t help myself! Look at how cool this is! It also comes with an informational book and very cool poster. I got this at Buried Underneath Comics in CT. while visiting my friend Bill.
Hulk Tumbler (2007)
Found this at Newbury Comics in Dartmouth. What a perfect picture to choose for the tumbler – or as we call them around these parts – a glass. I see a glass from 1978 on ebay going for about $70.00 right now. Highly doubtful that anything made nowadays will retain that kind of value – but it was still nice to find. I think Orange Juice would look awesome in this glass.
Super Heroes Postage Stamps (2007)
What a nice surprise, when I walked into the post office earlier this month, to see new stamps featuring my favorite super hero! Although, he’s not really a hero is he? He sure is super though! The stamps feature a Hulk illustration by Rich Buckler and John Romita – and also a cover from Incredible Hulk #1. On the back of the stamps there is a quick summary of the origin. Pretty nice surprise for such a dreary task!
